For more than 40 years, Christopher Dodds has made his living photographing the natural world and helping others do the same. An internationally renowned wildlife photographer, photography educator, workshop leader, author and public speaker, he has spent a lifetime pursuing extraordinary wildlife encounters while teaching photographers how to capture them with confidence, creativity and respect.
His career has taken him around the world, from the Africa, the Arctic to Alaska, Newfoundland to Florida and many remarkable places in between. Along the way, his photographs have appeared in magazines, newspapers, books, advertising campaigns and private collections around the world.
Through Dodds Visuals Inc., Christopher leads carefully planned small-group photography workshops to some of North America's finest wildlife destinations. Every workshop is built around exceptional photographic opportunities, practical field instruction and ethical wildlife photography. Whether helping participants master exposure, anticipate behaviour, refine composition or understand the quality of light, he believes the greatest lessons are learned in the field—not in a classroom.
Photography, to Christopher, has never been about owning the latest camera or lens. It is about understanding light, behaviour, composition, timing and developing the patience to wait for moments that cannot be manufactured.
